Alaska Island Hostel is a cozy offering dormitory-style lodging in Petersburg, Alaska. Travelers arrive in Petersburg by ferry, off Alaska Airlines daily jet service, by kayak or skiff. Petersburg is between Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka on the Alaska ferry route. We are off the route of mega-cruise ships.
Alaska Island Hostel's second floor kitchen & living room overlook the mountains and muskegs of Mitkof Island and Petersburg. The north harbor, downtown, schools, canneries, stores, museum, and hospital are a quick10 minute walk away. We are happy to share with travelers a glimpse of Alaska island life.
